Lead engineers and architects are encouraged to attend this one hour webinar and learn best practices for architecting applications in the cloud. Matt Tavis, Solutions Architect for AWS will uncover some key concepts to consider, such as, designing for failure, building loosely coupled systems, leveraging security mechanisms, and leveraging storage options. Matt will review a sample web application architecture in a traditional infrastructure setting and how best to migrate it to the AWS cloud.

Matt Tavis, Solutions Architect, Amazon Web Services
Matt Tavis is a Solutions Architect and works with enterprise customers to provide architectural guidance and help them understand how to best utilize the AWS cloud. Matt has been with Amazon since 2005 and has been working with Amazon’s web services offerings throughout that entire period. Prior to joining Amazon, Matt worked at Microsoft helping design the web services APIs (ASMX and WCF) for the .NET Framework and before that Matt spent many years working in IT consulting for Sapient Corporation. Matt graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and German Literature.
